Another legend has passed away. JACK LANCASTER, known well amongst Brand X circles, Jack passed away earlier this week. As a Composer and Saxophonist, Lancaster had a long career, starting in the late 60s co-founding Blodwyn Pig. Lancaster soon was collaborating with keyboardist Robin Lumley in sessions that sometimes included John Goodsall and Percy Jones. Lancaster and Lumley released their version of "Peter and the Wolf" back in 1975, followed by the impressive "Marscape" the following year. Both of those albums featured some performances by BX men, including Goodsall, Jones, Collins, and of course Lumley. Jack also recorded in projects along with Rod Argent, Anthony Phillips, Brian Eno, Vangelis and more. Jack has been living out in California, and he came out to see the last live version of Brand X play there back in 2017 near LA. Nice that he got to see John and Percy again. He leaves behind a wealth of music, and his joyful presence will certainly be missed. RIP Jack.
