maybe off topics , but this "phenomena" drives me crazy for months now and
maybe this could be a challenge for the QT team
did you ever wonder why in the fast growing market of HTPCs and "digital lifestyle"
you will not find one of the nice G5s with a TFT or Plasma TV , Cinema display or one of the nice beamers ?
simple .
lets try this nice scenario in PAL world (70% of the world population)
a. No 50 Hz support ( workaround- DisplayConfigX - thanx Harald !)
b. No app. for a reclock
so you NEVER will get a studder, judder and tearing free playback with a Mac.
Not with a DVB -HDTV receiver - not with DVDs - not with QuickTimeFiles
And yes ... very fine... With FinalCutPro 4.5 you can use a 16:9 TFT (CinemaDisplay or similar TFT, beamer or Plasma with DVI-in)
as a second monitor to playback your clips -
every 15 or 45 or ... sec Studder -Judder-tearing
to get a better understanding a white paper from the dark side .
and how this problem is solved in the PC world
