The year is 2024, and my L-A55's (2) are 44 years old. My favorite turntables, the mechanical queue drop is controllable and perfect for tape/digital recording. Ultra low noise 75db makes for black background audio, the speed lock is precise and drift zero. The performance of the tonearm is stunning for the initial price, and the clincher is the elliptical and spherical indications on the antiskate knob. Very few manufacturers realise the difference in antiskate settings for the two types of stylus. Can recommend this and most other JVC platters. Harry
