Russia has a direct interest in European railways, because European railways are how weapons reach Ukraine. The one sabotage case on this continent with a finished investigation and charged suspects is Poland, and the line that was blown up, Warsaw to Lublin, is a main supply corridor to the Ukrainian border.
Four days ago a Russian drone burned a Warsaw-bound locomotive two kilometres inside Ukraine, and another hit the crossing that carries that aid. Dutch and French track feeds the same corridors. If the Netherlands and France turn out to be Russian work, it will fit a pattern that is already proven, already prosecuted, and has nothing to do with settlements.

The Netherlands handles roughly a third of all settlement goods entering the EU, and close to half of settlement agricultural exports reaching Europe, through Rotterdam. It is the most economically damaging measure any European state has taken against the settlement economy.

Four countries move against the settlement economy. Four countries then lose control of something they run: a border, an airspace, a railway. The two rail cases are four days apart in neighbouring states, and the Dutch one lands seven days before the ban that costs the settlements more than any other in Europe. Governments that were considering similar measures are watching all of it.

Russia has a direct interest in European railways, because European railways are how weapons reach Ukraine. The one sabotage case on this continent with a finished investigation and charged suspects is Poland, and the line that was blown up, Warsaw to Lublin, is a main supply corridor to the Ukrainian border.
Four days ago a Russian drone burned a Warsaw-bound locomotive two kilometres inside Ukraine, and another hit the crossing that carries that aid. Dutch and French track feeds the same corridors. If the Netherlands and France turn out to be Russian work, it will fit a pattern that is already proven, already prosecuted, and has nothing to do with settlements.
