Thank you for choosing the app, as well as the feedback. What you described is a known side-effect. The short answer is signal distortion. The full answer needs a little bit more words to explain:
In the digital domain, there are two algorithms for analyzing W&F: (1)Zero-crossing, (2)Hilbert transform. The zero-crossing method is relatively straightforward. It is less sensitive to signal distortion, but it can’t provide deeper information such as W&F spectrum. The T-100 app uses the second method which is the Hilbert transform. It can provide deeper information, such as the W&F spectrum in the advanced W&F display. However, the downside of the Hilbert transform is that it is quite sensitive to distortion(s) of the input signal. Nothing is perfect...
So, what you have seen is presumably a result of potential distortion in the input signal. While this is an undesirable side-effect, it can also be an indicator of potential problem(s) in the audio path, as distortions are often level related. Hope this helps.
