So you know that Technics has a long and highly regarded history of making cartridges. Well, eventually, with models like the 100 and the 205 series and the replacement styli that went with them, it became obvious that the "bulk" of the cartridge can be reduced into a tightly packaged smaller form factor, and thus T4P was born. Used on many top arms, including the Technics EPA-A505 and the included arm of the amazing Technics SL-1000MK3D, the T4P P-Mount format is loved and enjoyed by many. The issue really is that these cartridges are hard to make due to smaller form and many of the companies have bailed out on moving coil T4P P-Mount cartridges long time ago. This makes these vintage carts in good condition very valuable. And makes new long lasting proven carts like the one offered here incredibly rare and hard to find. Now, already highly regarded P310MC is a workhorse. Well known, and fetching good amounts for working examples that spent 30 years and countless hours of playback. and new examples are highly sought after. But the P310MC was not the final word on MC carts from Technics. That distinction belongs to the EPC-P310MC2. Red and gold, individually tested and test results included with the cart the 310MC2 shows how serious Technics was about their top model of moving coil cartridge up until the very end, including using hard to make nonferrous housings with significant thickness that sealed and magnetically shielded the bodies. Others? Well they use plastics that offer no shielding properites at all for sensitive MC coils. I had a broken 310 and decided to dig inside to see how it's made (I'll try to add a pic of the destroyed 310MC FYI shortly) and I was amazed by the craftsmanship and internal detail of the design housed within. Oh, it took me half an hour to remove the thick but light alloy cover! This one is brand new, never used, sealed in original package with Japanese air from sometime late 1980s still stuck inside. Complete with adapter for standard headshell, stylus brush, screwdriver, wires, etc. SN: 10746. Now I must get a bit specific here just for clarity due to rareness, age, etc. 310MC2 is a solid design, using no rubber suspension that may collapse due to age as is the case on 100s or 205s moving magnet. I have never opened a vintage Technics MC cart and had any issues with it. In fact, every single 310MC and 310MC2 I have in service works perfectly, many of them came into my hands after unknown many usage hours - they are absolutely a work horse. Only issues I've ever seen on turntables I've handled such as SL-10 is over extended boron pipe in either direction ripping out the coil wire for one channel, or broken boron pipes. However, these are not delicate/fragile cartridges. These 310 are real work horses. But I must insist that due to sealed nature of item and my unwillingness to open to test for obvious reasons, the buyer accepts the item as-is, brand new, sealed, final sale. This is one of 3 I have, 1 I opened and use, 1 sealed stays with me and this one for sale. I can tell you the one I opened is absolutely perfect and I use it regularly for special listening sessions and I expect nothing less for the buyer of this cartridge.

I just added pictures of my 310MC2 in action, I took out my 310MC and put in my 310MC2, wow, you would think the different wasn't this huge. I had to go back once more to make sure I wasn't doing anything weird. I left the pre at a fixed volume level, switched inputs for cart switch, back tho phono and not only was my power amp reading 3 more watts at same volume setting (310MC2 clearly 11w/ch plus, 310 8w/ch at exactly same volume level - knob not moved, 100mV MC setting on pre) on 310MC2 due to much superior gain over the 310MC, the sound quality improvement on my test clip Regatta de Blanc was amazing. I couldn't believe the difference between the 310MC2 and 310MC, so I threw in a few more 310MCs in there to check it wasn't just my 310MC, bass, presentation of sound, no contest. 310MC2 is the bee's knees and absolutely worthy of it's "2". I'm glad I'll still have two if I end up selling this one. Incredible, and I can't believe I didn't do this clear test on same clip before to be honest. I threw in the P550 in there just for fun, it's clearly below the 310MC to my taste. Quite good for an MM cart, but no 310MC. After this little test I entertained myself with this morning, the 310MC2 is the best Technics cart in my weapon list that includes top Technics T4P MM carts like 205s and 100s in T4P and standard form. Honestly, don't buy it and let this ad expire. I'll gladly keep this one! :)

Selges med såkalt tungt hjerte fordi jeg innser at spilling av skiver, er sterkt nedprioritert i disse ulve tider. Har også en fin lp samling som ryker nå.
